January 2012 Update
What a great way to start the season

What a great start to the season! We are blessed with ample amounts of snow, to be exact more snow is on the ground in the mountains than there normally is by the end of February. The trees and glades are skiing super well since the terrain is now less contoured with the thick snowpack and all the smaller trees are all covered give more room. All in all I would say a great way to start the new year.
No need for long words here, here is a look at what is new and what we are doing and for those that have read the last update, yes we have skied Holy Swiss Cow many times, it is in prime shape and skiing very well.
Kind regards

Schedule
Many clients still ask us about our schedule. To answer some of these questions here is a short description of our weekly schedule from start to finish.
1. All our weeks start on Friday and end on Friday. All our packages are 7 day packages. If you are interested in a shorter stay, please contact us and we can see what is possible.
2. We reccomend that you arrive on the Thursday night in Smithers before your pick up on Friday morning. This will ensure if you do have any delays that you will not miss a day of skiing and you will be more rested as well.
3. Our pick up times are: Hudsons Bay Lodge (Smithers) 10:00 AM and Smithers Airport YYD 10:30 AM on Friday mornings.
4. On the departure day we leave the lodge at the latest 07:30 AM on Friday arriving at the airport at 09:00 - 09:30AM. The arriving groups normally arrive at the Bear Claw Lodge around 12:30
5. On the arrival day, after arrival at approx. 12:30 we have assign the rooms, give a short intro to the lodge and continue with lunch. After lunch there is: the signing of the waivers, guest info, beacon training, heli briefing and ski and snowboard adjustment. Providing the weather is flyable we depart in the later afternoon for a short 1/2 of skiing.
6. 2 Airlines fly from Vancouver to Smithers. Hawk Air and Air Canada. If you are flying internationally on a Star Alliance carrier, we recommend that you fly Air Canada since in case of a delay and missed flight a new ticket will be issued and on your departing flight you can check in your luggage in Smithers and it will go straight to your end destination without having to check it in again in Vancouver.
